Best Kept Secret: Country Nights at Macallan's Pub

Last Saturday, my husband and I stumbled upon a hidden gem in Dorval: Macallans Pub, where the air was alive with the twang of guitars and the rhythmic stomping of boots. It was Country Music Night, and Texarillo, a renowned local band, had taken the stage, ready to whisk us away on a musical journey through the heart of Nashville.

As we stepped inside, the lively ambiance of the pub embraced us, setting the stage for an unforgettable evening. The sound of laughter mingled with the spirited fiddle, creating an atmosphere that was both energetic and inviting. Even for someone like me, who wasn't necessarily a die-hard country music fan, there was an undeniable charm to the scene.

We grabbed a couple of drinks and found a spot near the dance floor, where a group of enthusiastic line dancers were kicking up their heels. 

What made the evening even more special was learning about the free line dancing lessons offered every Saturday afternoon from 3pm-5pm. Led by a talented instructor Gynoh, we learned the basic steps and techniques, allowing us to fully immerse ourselves in the country music experience. Whether you were a seasoned pro or a complete novice like me, the lessons were a fantastic way to connect with the music and the community.

As the night went on, Texarillo treated us to one incredible performance after another, their music weaving tales of love, heartbreak, and everything in between. From classic hits like Garth Brooks' Friends in Low Places to foot-stomping originals, their repertoire was as diverse as it was captivating. By the end of the evening, my husband and I were left with memories that would last a lifetime, a newfound appreciation for country music, and plans to return for the next Country Music Night on Saturday, May 30th.
